Enough was enough!! I walked through the doors of the gym looking for help and I found it in a big way. David was eager to help. He gave me a plan (diet and exercise) and encouragement. It was a simple plan. Good diet and hard work. David also had me keep a journal of my diet. He kept a close eye on me and monitored my diet while making changes as we went along. David made the workouts not seem so tough with all the encouragement he gave. He was very good at motivating me. I saw David twice a week for four months. Not one time did a workout ever be easier than the last one. He was very good at pushing me to the limit while doing it in a encouraging way. David's knowledge for diet and exercise is unbelievable. I have lost 100 pounds and 7 inches in a very short 4 months. I would recommend him for anyone no matter age, gender, or size. David knows what he is doing. I am thankful for meeting and getting to work with him. With his guidance and the knowledge that I have learned, I will attempt the next 100 pounds and I am very positive I will succeed. He has literally saved my life.

Went from a size 12 to a size 6

Started working out with David Oquendo in December 2008. Worked out with David once a week plus four days a week on my own. No major “diet,” just tried to eat healthy.

I’ve tried to lose weight off and on for a number of years, but once I started working out with David, they weight came off very easy. David pushes me every week to improve my fitness level and improve my diet, in a positive way that I appreciate.

I want to share my story of the progress I've made the 6 weeks I spent working out with David Oquendo. I have been working out at Anytime Fitness in Warrensburg, MO for about three years. During that time my weight stayed about the same and I was spending 1 1/2 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. A co-worker suggested I should train with David. During the 6 weeks I worked out with David he taught me how to eat the right things by keeping a food log as well as tailoring the workouts to work my core muscles. In addition the changes he made to my cardio workouts had amazing results. In this short period of time I lost 8 lbs. and have gone down one size already. David taught me to work to my full potential and I'm experiencing positive results. I haven't looked or felt this good about myself in years. As I told David, his workouts always exceeded my expectations.

My name's Tanya Harger, I'm 41yrs old and David has been my personal trainer for the past 9 months. And what a grueling, awesomely wonderful 9 months it's been. When I signed up to join the gym I had no intentions of getting a personal trainer but as part of the package when signing up you got 3 free sessions with a trainer. As luck would have it, I got David and as time would tell I got the best out of the 4 personal trainers at the gym. I knew after 3 sessions if I wanted to be successful with my goal of losing the fluff and getting toned and in shape I had to keep David. I wasn't really overweight to begin with but I was fluffy around the middle, had no real muscle tone and no endurance. Now after 9 months it's a different story and it's all because of David and his guidance, from my eating to my workouts. First I had to start keeping a daily log of what I ate everyday. That was hard at first but David was very helpful and supportive. If I had a question about what I should or shouldn't eat all I had to do was text him and he would answer. He also let me know when I pulled a no no and ate something I shouldn't. Second, we worked on getting me in shape through a combination of cardio and strength training and this was a grueling process for me at first. David was awesome with letting me know what a good job I was doing and keeping me from getting discouraged while pushing me to do more, even when I didn't think I could. I left every session whipped but feeling like I actually accomplished something good. I went from 136lbs to 126lbs, from a size 6 to a size 3/4, you can actually see the muscles in my arms and legs. My stomach is toned and flat. I was able to accomplish this because I had David in my corner guiding me, helping me and pushing me. I was so lucky to get him those first few sessions and keep him for the past 9 months. Even though he has decided to move on to bigger and better things he has given me the tools to keep going and be successful in keeping fit and healthy. Wherever he chooses to go he will be an asset and any gym would be lucky to have him. He is truly a wonderful, awesome person through and through and a terrific personal trainer to boot.

I would like to take this time to tell you about my experience with David Oquendo as a care giver, dedicated professional and personal trainer.

I personally have worked with David for the past 2 years and have enjoyed every moment.

I am 51 years old, have gone through menopause and have all but given up on any type of fitness program. I started going to Anytime Fitness and at that time they were just starting up in Warrensburg. Prior to that time, I have gone through several "certified" trainers and failed to see any improvement, trainer dedication or commitment required in this field. I quit for sometime and was trying to workout on my own. Over that period of time, I observed David's unique technique. I decided to approached him to see if he would train me, in which he took an immediate interest and began developing a plan tailored to my needs. Under David's care, I have lost 25 lbs and have become stronger than I ever imagined. David has helped me with my nutrition, creating a specific diet for me and has encouraged me at all times. He was literally available to me anytime of the day if I needed help with questions on nutrition or just workouts when I couldn't meet with him. My strict accountability partner.

As I stated, I am 51 and have had some aches and pains here and there. As we worked out, if I was hurting in any area, David would immediately adapt whatever workout we were doing to accommodate his objective.

It was fascinating to watch David grow over the years as I benefited in his adaption in exercise physiology. He became highly sought after in our community as a personal trainer.

I am personally deeply saddened by his move, but know that he will be a tremendous success and an outstanding asset wherever he goes.

In July of 2011 I had undergone a second knee surgery and by late October I began realizing that by mid December I would have to participate in a Physical Training test for the U.S. Air Force. I was totally under prepared for this upcoming test, so after serious debating I decided to hire David as my personal trainer to get me ready for the test. Immediately we sat down to discuss the overall test and what my goals would be in order to pass. Then the fun truly began. We started our program 1 month and 2 weeks before I would take the test. We began with a diet program that would help me trim back the fattiness that had onset with not working out in over a year. He really opened my eyes to what and when I was eating and what fluids I was consuming. That was a major step in my overall performance. The second step in our program was focusing on the major components so that I could reasonably overcome the test. He started me on a rigorous cardio program and always staying highly cognizant on my prior knee surgery ensuring we never pushed it beyond its limits or re injured said knee. He also established an intense muscular program to help me achieve high levels of upper body and abdominal strength. I can honestly say I never worked out so hard in my life and David was right there pushing me along every step of the way. We had a game plan and we stuck to it faithfully. I am proud to say that come test day, I was highly confident in my physical abilities and was able to pass the test with flying colors, even accomplishing more pushups and sit-ups then I had ever accomplished before. Not to mention that I also had lost over 10 pounds and shaved nearly 3 inches off my waist. With the test behind me, I still am using the skills and dietary plan David established, to continue to stay fit and stay healthy.

I worked out with David for 7 weeks. Prior to that, I had a different personal trainer for 4 months. The difference in trainers was amazing. Immediately I noticed the workouts were harder and David was pushing me to my limits. We talked about my goals; he devised a game plan to help me achieve them. At one point I had made a comment to him, “I had never really sweat this much in any other workout” and his reply was “then you weren’t really working out then”. The other major difference I noticed was that David kept it very professional and focused on working out and achieving the results I wanted. With past trainers it seemed a lot of personal issues, conversations that would distract from the workout. With David that never happened, which I really appreciated and enjoyed. Within the 2 months, there was significant change in my body, I was more tone then I had ever been. More importantly, all of my clothes fit better. David also kept me on track with my diet and we discussed, everything I was putting into my body, to include all foods, liquids, supplements, etc… My eating habits changed dramatically and even after he is no longer with me, I know what and when to eat. As a matter of fact one of the best parts, being a woman, my female coworkers continue to comment on how great I look, and how much weight I have lost. Overall David is a great trainer and I do not think anyone will ever be able to replace what he did for me as a whole, he is the complete package.
